URSB Trainings End In Mbarara

Today June 02, 2018, we concluded our two weeks marathon business and enterprise training sessions for women and youth. In all, we reached an estimated 3800 people in all regions each session carried for two days per region (Gulu, Mbale, Masaka and Mbarara).
We were overwhelmed by the demand and requests for a single place for teaching and business support in these regions, not a ‘one-off’ type of training.
We were in equal measure humbled by the sight of so many women with books and pens in our session taking notes on everything from customer care, sales, marketing and mindset change.
The youth in particular told us one of their biggest challenges in life and in business isn’t necessarily capital, key as this is, but the clear lack of a business mentorship structure in the country to help their startups see their (business) fifth birthday.
The other key issue they raised across the country is the multiple government agencies each either trying to register you and another getting a way to tax you or another looking for collection of the money they gave you. They want one face of government in helping Enterprises grow.
We thank URSB for taking leadership in this area and reaching out to our population to register businesses and to allow so many role models we were using across the country to tell their (business people) stories as a way of inspiring young people to start their own enterprises.
